A journey that begins long ago
Efficiency, innovation and excellence have been at the heart of our business strategy since our founding in 1949 in Vigevano, Italy. Now that we are a leader in the luxury packaging industry, with a wide range of products that include rigid boxes, cases, tissue and paper and cardboard containers, our mission remains to create packaging solutions that protect and enhance our customers’ products, while maintaining a strong commitment to environmental protection and community well-being.
ESG roadmap and awards
In recent years, we have achieved several important milestones. In 2021, we were awarded the EcoVadis Silver Medal and Sustainability Award, reflecting our ongoing commitment to sustainable practices, but most importantly, we achieved the prestigious B Corp certification, which recognizes our social and environmental performance.
But what does it really mean to be a B Corp and why is it so important?
The B Corp certification represents the gold standard for companies committed to combining profit and collective benefit. Issued by the international nonprofit B Lab, this certification is not just a recognition, but a statement of intent: B Corp companies are distinguished by adopting business practices that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
Becoming a B Corp means joining a global movement of companies that use business as a positive force for change, placing themselves at the center of a network of business partners, stakeholders, and talent united by values of credibility and trust.
How is B Corp certification achieved?
Achieving B Corp certification is not easy: to obtain it, a company like ISEM Packaging Group must complete the B Impact Assessment, making its performance information public with full transparency so that it can be evaluated on five main areas:
- Governance
- Workers
- Community
- Environment
- Customers
Companies that exceed the benchmark by 80 points can bear the B Corp seal: we have been among them since 2021. In addition, as a B Corp-certified Italian company, in June 2023 we changed our bylaws to become a Benefit Corporation, thus also legally enshrining our vocation: to merge entrepreneurial efficiency with the pursuit of the common good.
Our principles of governance and innovation
Our corporate governance is based on principles of ethics and integrity, with a strong focus on research, innovation, and strategic partnerships. Digital transformation is another key pillar of our strategy, enabling us to continuously improve our processes and offer cutting-edge products to our customers.
We place great emphasis on the health and safety of our employees, offering benefits and welfare programs. We constantly invest in human capital training and development, recognizing that the well-being of our resources is essential to the company’s success. In addition, we actively support local communities through various initiatives including donations to two important foundations such as the Francesca Rava Foundation and the national association Volontarie del Telefono Rosa, support as sponsors to local sportsmen and organizations.
Environmental sustainability is at the core of our operations. We implement waste management and optimization practices, energy efficiency and emission reduction. We aim to minimize the environmental impact of our operations and promote a circular economy.
Our lifelong vision is to create solutions that not only meet customers’ needs but also have a positive impact on people and the environment. We will continue to work hard to meet future challenges and make further progress on our sustainability journey.
